I am a 22 year old college transfer student currently pursuing a BFA in Digital Media Art. I started my art journey via traditional art. Which included drawing with colored pencils and markers. However, I soon realized that although it was fun, this medium wasn't for me. It wasn't until I was introduced to the different drawing apps one might find available on phones and tablets that I began to feel like I was going in the right direction. Nowadays, I continue to be drawn to the endless possibilities that technology offers for creative exploration. After all, digital art is where imagination meets innovation, so I enjoy embracing new technology and experimenting with software to translate my ideas into a "physical form."

My artwork is usually composed of mixed media elements, such as digital illustration, 3d modeling, and animation. I have experience with software like Blender and various Adobe programs such as Adobe Animate, and Illustrator. Using these digital tools allows me to visualize my thoughts and have access to an infinite color palette and textures that would be difficult to achieve in traditional media. As an artist navigating the digital world, I have found that working with the limitless potential that cutting-edge software tools provide comes with a need for continuous learning and resilience. One of the greatest challenges I've come across is that it's sometimes difficult to incorporate a sense of movement into my artwork as most of the time, this type of medium lacks the more organic shapes and lines typically found in traditional art. Instead, replaced with ones that give the piece a sense of perfection and make the artwork feel more lifeless and rigid. Technical difficulties also bring an additional level of hardship into the mix. However, I understand that working through obstacles and turning them into stepping stones for creativity is an important part of the creative process that can sometimes be exploited. For me, each project is a journey of both control and surrender. While I meticulously work with textures, colors, and forms. I also like to embrace the accidental mistakes and distortions that occur and allow them to reshape my original ideas as needed. This allows me to approach my artwork from different perspectives and discover new aspects of my artistic identity that will allow me to grow.

Through my practice, I aim not only to explore my identity and creative expression through digital experimentation but also to create visually engaging artwork that sparks the creativity and curiosity of my audience. This leads me to my recent introduction to creative coding. Despite having only scratched the surface. I have already begun to see the potential in creative coding, as it has allowed me access to new ways to create motion graphics and introduced me to the different ways to make my artwork more engaging for my audience. My most recent goal for the future is to get to the point where I can combine code and 3d modeling to create an interactive piece of artwork.
